La Parguera Bioluminescent Bay

My family and I went on a 4-day trip to Puerto Rico, where we got to experience the island’s natural beauty and vibrant culture. One of the highlights of our trip was swimming with the bioluminescence at La Parguera Bioluminescent Bay in Lajas. The glowing effect in the water is caused by tiny organisms called dinoflagellates, which light up when they’re “activated” by movement around them—it was magical to watch the water sparkle with every splash. During our stay, we spent time in both San Juan and Mayagüez, enjoying the local food, exploring historic sites, and soaking in the tropical weather.
