The Alhambra

The Alhambra, majestically perched on Sabika hill overlooking the city of Granada in southern Spain, is an extraordinary complex of palaces, fortresses, and gardens that stands as one of the finest surviving examples of Islamic architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its name, "Alhambra," is thought to derive from the Arabic ²¹±ô-Ḥa³¾°ùÄåʼ, meaning "the red one," likely referring to the reddish hue of its sun-baked rammed earth walls and towers.
